ODBD June Release Blog Hop

I loooove it when I get to hang out with the Our Daily Bread design team! Today they are showcasing the new releases for June in a blog hop. If you're a regular reader of my blog and just happened upon my section of the hop, you may want to start back at the beginning. Prizes are involved!! The ODBD Blog is the place to get started - actually you'll start and end the hop there, and if you should happen to get lost or interrupted in between, you can always go there for a complete list of links in the correct order. If you came to my blog from Grace's blog, you are doing just fine.

When you see me playing along, you know that I've had a part in the new release...... this month, these designs are my contributions! This set is so special to my heart for several reasons... I have very special memories of going to see the California wildflowers with my family before we moved overseas, and the delicate California Poppies were so breathtaking. California will always be 'home' to me, and I drew these poppies on a day when I was feeling particularly homesick. The verses are special to me too - so many volunteers, missionaries, ministers and church workers put in countless hours of work behind the scenes, simply as an outflow of the love and vision they have in their hearts. They don't expect or even want recognition... but they treasure quiet encouragement. So these verses and sentiments were put together with that in mind.

The larger verse is designed so it can be broken up: "Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord" can be used alone; "Your labor in the Lord is not in vain" can be used alone, or the sentiment can be split with part on the front of your card, and part inside. The 3-line sentiment can also be used in part (first 2 lines) or whole.

Here's my card - I took the main image apart and pieced a bunch of poppies around a framed sentiment. The poppies are colored with Touch Twin Markers (an affordable alternative to Copics); the frame is part of one of Spellbinders' Christmas Frameabilities sets, and the flourishes are a Cuttlebug die (it's actually a border die that I chopped up). Some of the flowers were embossed from the back to add dimension, and others have cut out portions that are popped up on foam tape.
To be eligible to win prizes today (3 hoppers will win a stamp set of their choice, and 1 will win the June Bread Basket Bundle), here is what you have to do:

* Hop to each blog on the list and leave a comment for each designer
* Return to the ODBD Blog, and tell us you completed the hop, follow any other instructions they have for you there, and let us know if there were any blogs you could not comment on.

After you leave a comment here, you'll be hopping to Betty's blog! (I do have my comment moderation turned on because I'll be sleeping while you hop... don't panic if your comment doesn't show up right away!!)

Thanks for visiting me today!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
