Watercolor stamping

This was my entry for last month's "Seeing Green" challenge over at Art Impressions - I had this new batch of their watercolor stamps to play with:

......so I made this trellis. All my stamping was done with Versamagic chalk inks, which are water soluble, so once the ink is stamped it can be blended with a water brush.

I added in the background using reinkers and chalk inks (when I paint with chalk inks, I tap the corner of the pad on a clean acrylic block, then use that as my palette). The white flowers were added on after the piece was dry - that is white acrylic paint applied with a small stylus.

It's been a while since I did any scenic stamping and this was fun! I love the open line designs... so much 'scope for imagination' that way (I am reading Anne of Green Gables with my daughter...hehe). Actually a variety of stamps can be used in a 'faux watercolor' sort of way- ink it up in a water-soluble ink (dye ink, some chalk inks) then mist the rubber and stamp or mist blend it with a wet brush after it's stamped.

Hope this gives you some ideas!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
