JustRite Challenge: Direct to Rubber
The JustRite "direct to rubber" challenge sounded like a fun one.... Instead of using a single color to ink up your stamp, a direct-to-rubber technique involves inking individual lines or areas of your image using different inks or markers. Here's my card... I used Marvy LePlume II markers to color the lines of the Morning Glory image (My Garden set), misted the stamp lightly before stamping to the paper, stamped, then blended the colors with a waterbrush. After the initial marker ink was dry, I added more color to the stamped images with watercolor and Inktense pencils, and reinkers. I added some dimension to the flowers by cutting along the edges of some of the flowers and leaves, then embossing from behind with a ball stylus.
The sentiment is from the Wedding Nested Sentiments set.
Thanks for stopping by!
What a WOW card, Dina! I love morning glories - my favorites are blue, but these purple ones are gorgeous! I've really enjoyed reading about how you add dimension by cutting around part of the flower & embossing from the back. Definitely something I'm going to try. I love the look it gives your cards. Have a blessed day!

ReplyDeleteOOO la la, a lotta loving sentiment and perky purple floral gift draw the viewer back for additional eye candy. Dani, another joy to stop by for papercrafting 'Hi!'. Just Rite has such good supplies for creative crafting; you've 'done them proud'.
ReplyDeleteKeep Looking UP! Blessings abundant be yours today. Here! Snow in the air and on the move across the ground with winds 25+ and temps near 25 F making snow a totally moving force seeking a place to pile up/ drift! Not a day to be out near sundown or after when highways may be iced over from snow blowing over sun heated asphalt and cold snow dropping onto the surface in high winds melting, then freezing when the sun sets and earth cools to sub zero quickly (ten below zero F last night).
