We have an anchor...

Not sure why, but I've been inspired lately to pull out my acrylic paints...it's also been a while since I altered a hymn, so this card was really satisfying to make. You can find this hymn sheet music and more here if you'd like to try altering a hymn too!

This stamp image is called Seagull Roost - I stamped and masked it before painting to get the effect of waves crashing against the pilings and rocks. The waves are painted with a 'scruffy brush' - that is one of Donna Dewberry's one-stroke brushes, which you can find anywhere her supplies are sold...it worked really well for this effect! I was able to tie the sailor knot by studying this photo... still sort of impressed with myself (although I'm sure I could never do it again on my own)! Here's a close-up on the stamped image...

  5. This card is beyond beautiful. I recently found your blog, and I've been amazed by your talent. Seems like you can do anything you set your mind to...from fixing the washing machine yourself to teaching yourself to tie the sailor knot on this card. You inspire me :) -Kathy
