Sugar Bowl challenge #1

Before Christmas I splurged with a little of my watermark money and bought myself some cutie Sugar Nellie stamps from Funky Kits - they've been dying to come out and play, so here is Arthur (sorry, man, for all the pink...), since I need to restock my birthday card file and get back in the habit of sending cards to our co-workers who work in different areas of Indo. This card follows the first ever sketch challenge from the Sugar Bowl, Sugar Nellie's challenge blog! So Arthur is watercolored using a waterbrush (Niji) and watercolor pencils (Derwent), and I sketched in a little grass for him to stand on. The word 'happy' is a partial stamp ('happy happy birthday') from TAC.

UGH - it has been a 'snap out of it' day for me (that Mary Engelbreit illustration hangs out on my blog for a reason!) - yesterday I literally gave myself a headache and nearly a panic attack thinking about going to a periodontist when we go to Singapore.....today a little shopping therapy helped my nerves some.....I found 11 colors of pearlized cardstock at the bookstore in town for about $1.62 per 10-pack!

Thanks to all so far who have played the birthday challenges...the rest o' y'all are missing out on a chance at some super prizes - keep the links coming!
