Thinking outside the box.......
The Sitting Pretty set from Firecracker Designs by Pamela features this way cool little vase. I couldn't just let it go as a vase though...so here is the same image, 3 different ways (if you read my blog through a reader or feed, you might need to come on over to the blog to see the Pictobrowser slide show).
1. as a candle - I free-handed the flame in, and colored the vase in with Prismacolor pencils to create a candle. (The saying on this card is from Heart & Soul Rubber Stamp Co.).
2. as a coffee mug - Somewhere on the internet I saw some type of glass coffee cup that reminded me of this...but I couldn't ever find it again. This one is colored with Prismacolor pencils. The challenge was getting the marbles to look like a design on a mug rather than something dimensional inside. The saying on this card is from MorningStar Stamps. One of my favorites for coffee/tea cards. I liked how the spiral clip mimicked the curve of the metal piece on the image too.
3. as a vase - of course! This scene is watercolored, and I used diamond glaze to make the vase look glassy. The flowers are pieced, and the oval is sewn to the card.
While you're over at Firecracker Designs, be sure to check out Pamela's 4 new releases - some cutie tootie snowmen and penguins, among other things! If you order all 4 sets before October 20th, you'll get a 20% discount!

ReplyDeleteSo creative to use the stamp so many ways! I think I like it as a candle more than a vase!!
