October releases are here!

Gotta love international post...and suspicious customs agents who must think I'm starting a store here with all these stamps coming to me...BUT...I finally have the October releases in my hands from Our Daily Bread designs! I'll share one creation today from the "We Three Kings" set, and save the rest for another day. :)

This was one of those cards that came out just like I saw it in my head...scary but cool when that happens! I pulled out some Pearlized cardstock and masked the moon with a punched out post-it note. Working from the moon out, I applied Brilliance ink and chalk inks to the cardstock, blending them together as I went (the pearlized stock has a bit of a finish on it, so the ink dries slower, which gives you more time to blend. If you haven't used this stuff, you have to check it out, especially if you work with sponging or DTP inking. The sparkle shows through the ink, and it's really pretty on skies and water. The pack I have is by Paper Accents).

After I had the sky done, I stamped the wisemen and colored in the image with a fine black marker, sketched in the rest of the hill and the horizon, and added highlights with a white gel pen. The wisemen's shadows were added with Prismacolor pencils.

This is a heavier card as I decided to layer and stamp the inside too. The star was stamped with a glue pad and brushed with silver mica powders.

  5. THere is a problem with the Feed. I see other bloggers distressed. One said she had over a hundred "drop" her today. Then she discovered that hundreds of people are having the same problem.

  9. Wow. That is absolutely gorgeous. I'm sure it helps as my favorite color is blue, but the design is outstanding. I love reading your blog and catching up on your life. I will be praying today that your "bug" will go away. God bless you :) Elizabeth S. in mid-Michigan

  12. I LOVE the DRAMA of this!!!!
WAY COOL! This card is SO well done--I really like how you made the line art into a silhouette! That is BRILLIANT!!

I think the kings/wiseguys/maji are one of the coolest things about the Christmas story. Those without a relationship with God--knew who Jesus was--Awesome!!
