a cup of tea makes everything better......

I wasn't going to post my smARTworks tea party project with all that's going on, but I had it done already and Russ said, "Why not? go ahead!" So here it is. Thanks to our hostess, Peggy Lamb, for the great sketch and the paper-piecing challenge! Here is her original sketch - I ended up flipping it because of the orientation of the image...and because I wanted to. :)

So this is Stella...her clothes and hat are paper-pieced over a watercolored image. I had these little bows too from who-knows-where - thought that one looked appropriate. Don't know what you think but Stella to me looks wise and knowing, so the saying seemed rather like something she might say.

The right panel is clear embossed with the flourish from the Stella set. The sentiment is from a set called Hoot!

Be sure to check out the other team members' creations as they post throughout the day...

  2. I like the way the focal panel image contrasts with the neutral background. Stella never looked so good.

  4. As always, I really like your card. She definitely looks to me like a woman who has it together. Kind of like the Proverbs 31 woman from my mother's generation!
Praises that you are OK and Russ is on his way.
    Blessings to you all.

  5. Quite lovely. She reminds me of a young Margaret Thatcher! She's destined for leadership.

  6. Yes Stella looks wise, and that bow is a perfect match. Please do not worry about sending me the email until you have time. With everything going on for you, this is the last thing you should be worrying about!!!! I have lots of patience!! :-) Glad to hear Russ is doing better. Hope those meds stop making him feel so dizzy! Yuck!!
