Tea Party

I just could not wrap my head around a color challenge this week...not to mention that I only had scraps to work with! But by some twist of serendipity, I think I worked it out anyway! Thank God for some quiet stamping time yesterday!

I'm not sure that this card fits into the color palette Heidi gave our team for this week's smARTworks Tea Party...if it does, it's a happy accident. She said we didn't have to use all the colors, so I pulled out the green, gold, brown, and a little bit of the orange.

The scene is watercolored using only Sepia tones. I love that look - so simple - and it's fun to contrast it with a colored background. You can find this set, called "My Mother" in smARTworks online catalog here. Card size is about 4-1/4" square.

Be sure to check out what other team members created as they post throughout the day:

We experienced another tornado warning last night in the middle of the night...blaaahhhh!!!!

  4. You amaze me :) Somedays I have trouble creating things in my well stocked stamp room- and you come up with the most beautiful things travelling down the road. I'll bet you're always looking for 'collagy' stuff everywhere :) God Bless your creativity! Oh wait- He already has :)

  5. This certainly looks as if you pulled from the challenge colors! I've never tried watercoloring in sepia tones before, but will now be adding it to my "gotta try" list. Thanks for the idea!
