another Mom card
You know I'm behind when it's pushing Father's Day and I'm still posting Mother's Day cards................
This card reminds me of a velvet "crazy quilt" pillow at my Mom's house that my Grandma made many years ago. For the background, I used a variety of coordinating scraps (see tutorial for "scrap strip backgrounds" to the left) - it's a great way to use up those smaller or narrow scraps of paper I can't bear to throw away. The scene (smARTworks set: My Mother) is watercolored using Derwent WC pencils.
We arrived safely in FL on Tuesday, so no more traveling (at least not out of state) until we fly away. Thankful for that...though we still have lots of things to do, lots of running around, etc. I've forced myself into "git-r-done" mode, which has kept me on the computer a lot, finalizing artwork for new stamp releases, catching up on emails, finding doctors for last-minute appointments, etc. Today I've got to get the kids' clothes unpacked and sorted.
Next time - those new sets from Our Daily Bread! I promise!
Sounds like life will be getting a bit more busy for you~ I can see signs of "focusing on one thing at a time"! (Guess those prayers helped some. : )
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me too of the crazy quilts that were made long ago. I have a crazy quilt made by my grandmother and her mother. It is very, very old and very precious to me.
ReplyDeleteYour work is lovely!
