make a wish......

How cute is this little porker? I love Mostly Animals stamps...I was so bummed when they went out of business. I got this and a few other stamps on sale recently from another store that was having a liquidation sale....the irony of it was that it arrived on the very day I cut sugar out of my diet. So now when I crave sugar - hey, make a chocolate card. Almost the same, and it doesn't affect my memory. :)

Something about this card is one step too simple for me, but it will probably end up as is. The pig and chocolates are colored with Prismacolor pencils, blended with mineral spirits. I stamped the image twice on the striped paper to do the piecing for the box, making sure the piece of the box I wanted to cover was in line with the stripes (make sense?). I used a gold gel pen to color the box lining - not sure that shows up well. The "make a wish" is a Studio-G clear stamp from the Michael's $1 sets, and the chocolate chip stamp is from Biblical Impressions' Straight Forward line (and is therefore 1/2 price until July 8th with all the other unmounted stamps, if you're interested in having your own). There's a teeny little "bingie" (my 4YO's word) on the star in the saying, and Stardust glitter pen around the border.

A note about watermarks too, since I'm thinking about it and I did it on this card - if you have a single-color watermark and you want it to coordinate with the card you're putting it on, use your little eyedropper color-picker tool and pick a color off your card, select your watermark, then use the fill-bucket to to change its color to the 'picked' color.

  2. I don't find this card to simple, sometimes you need simple to let the image speak for itself. And this one definitely speaks......hilarious. Love the pig.
