What is up with this week?

Someone poisoned our dog this morning...! Our neighbor came over mid morning and said she had seen some poisoned fish in front of our house earlier – her dog had gone toward it but she recognized the smell of the poison and pulled him away, but she worried because she didn’t see our dog – she figured they had already taken him by then. Grrr...the timing of it was a blessing actually – since we’d been home such a short time and the kids weren’t really used to having him around. I'm not all heartbroken about it, just sad that someone would do something like that. This is not an 'animal rights' culture by any stretch of the imagination...but still...

*ETA* A few of you asked 'why?' Our dog had a bit of a routine 'out and about', visiting his friends...he probably got into someone's trash or chased a chicken one too many times and someone got tired of it. Same thing when our neighbors cut down our papaya tree - if they'd just said it was bothering them we'd have done something about it ourselves...

  1. Sorry!! :-( Had that happen to one of my dogs, in Ponti, once. Will you replace him with another?

  2. That is just awful, I can't believe someone would do that! (well ok, sadly I guess I can) I'm glad you're not completely shaken up by it - I would be.

  5. So sorry about your dog! I had that happen to mine when I was little - still haven't forgotten it. Amazing how many cruel people there are - why they do these kind of things is beyond my understanding.
