More is......meh?
I couldn't stand to leave this one plain - I had to add the butterfly...and after I stamped it onto my scene it was too late to go back. I like it...and I don't like it. Still not sure. I wanted it up a little higher actually, but I didn't want to risk the antennas spanning several layers and not printing well. But I guess she and the mouse are buds, and it's not a big deal. They don't seem to mind, so I'll get over it too, I guess.
All stamps are from smARTworks...actually I should say that I didn't get my mouse from smARTworks, but they do have that same image - it's just slightly smaller or larger, I can't remember which. I stamped the mouse, masked him, stamped the mushroom and masked it, then did the background, using Versamagic chalk inks and misting my stamp with water before putting it to the paper. I used Prismacolor pencils to add in some shading and to color the mouse and mushroom. Clouds were made using a scalloped circle as a mask (link to the right for a tutorial on that). Stamped the butterfly's black parts onto the card so I wouldn't have to cut them out, then stamped and colored the wings on another piece of cardstock, trimmed and layered (not popped, just curved a little). That tab is punched with a corner of the Marvy giga scalloped square.
Next time I think the mouse wants to sit under the mushroom. Don't you think? Oh forgot to mention - the mushroom (shouldn't everyone have a mushroom stamp?) comes with 2 cute yet realistic little snail stamps. Very fun!
I think it's great! I agree, it needed the butterfly and if you stand back and look at it, where you had to place it adds dimension. It appears, at least from where I sit :), that the butterfly is a ways away from mouse, but coming in for a landing. A great card!

I love this image - so cute - and the butterfly is perfect! Looks like there's a conversation between the mouse and the butterfly. :)
