More is more.....

This is probably the 3rd photo version of this card...it started with the top panel being white, in response to my fear of white...then ya know...I just didn't like it. So I put in the yellow paper instead. Yes indeed, sometimes - more is more.

Anyway, this is another sketch challenge from Julee's blog Poetic Artistry - no giraffe this time...! Since it's like perpetually summer here, the first day of summer slid right by with no celebration. So here's my hello summer card...though these are my shoes of choice all year round. :) I love flip flops, and there are sooooo many cute ones...I have to remind myself that I can only wear one pair at a time and I don't need every cute pair I see...

There's a ton of dimension on this card that probably doesn't show up on the picture, and it may have to be hand-delivered somehow or tucked in a package. :) All stamps are by Bugawumps. The scalloped circle is popped, and the straps on the flip flops are pieced and popped, then the flowers attached with brads on top of that. The brads are really yellow, but I decided they needed a little something after taking the first picture.

I'm not really happy with the shrink plastic piece - I felt like I needed it though, because though I love the saying, it is just way too big. I did like that I was able to cut it with my Coluzzle, but the shrinking of it accentuated the crookedness of the stamping or my cutting, one of the two......which wasn't really what I was going for. Besides that it pitted and buckled a bit. Oh well. I had asked myself earlier yesterday why I 'had to have' the Coluzzle tag template, and I justified having it, so there you go!

  2. I love the imperfection of the shrink plastic on the tag, but it's not obvious. Don't worry about it. You meant for it to look like that right?? Dina, it's another beautiful card.

  4. I love that sentiment! And those flip-flop straps are awesome, I can tell a lot of work went into this. Orange is my favorite color, so this really caught my eye!

  9. These are adorable flip flops, and the flowers are perfect. I agree with your white fear, I have a hard time with stark whiteness, it bothers me.
