blog cannoli card

Here is the card that goes along with the blog cannoli - if you haven't entered yet and would like to receive this card along with the unmounted lighthouse stamp, leave a comment on the blog cannoli post below!

All stamps are from My Heart Stamps For You. I stamped the light house on watercolor paper, then sketched in the rest of the hill. I watercolored in the grass, and stamped a couple tufts in for texture...I wanted to use all MHS4U stamps and they don't have a grass tuft, so I improvised by stamping a portion of the pine branch. Worked for me!

I created a horizontal line for the ocean using a post-it note as a guide, and blended in the blue. For the waves, I actually used my Sakura quickie glue pen, and embossed white. I hate embossing. I'm just too impatient, and the paper always warps. But I figured watercolor paper was thick enough it wouldn't warp too much, and I wanted the white to stand out.

The photo corners are paper...they were white but I colored them in with an Adirondack marker. Brown staples on the horizontal strip. Mounting tape on the greeting panel. I wanted to use my Twinkling H20s but I had already done this panel previous to receiving them, BUT - one of the colors I have is called Oyster, and I painted a layer of that over the ocean - sparkle! Love it. Looks sooooo much better in real life, though maybe if you enlarge the picture you can see it a little better.

Thanks for checking in!
