A walk in the snow.......

I wish! No snow here...just have to imagine I'm in this little scene. :) I put together this card for a contest entry - Art Impressions has a themed card contest every other month, and I always enjoy trying to tweak my stamps to fit their themes. The theme for December is Christmas in Blue. Hm. No AI Christmas or winter stamps...gotta make do with what I have.

I used the Little Shoppers as trick-or-treaters for the last contest - well, now they're walking home in the snow! I stamped them in StazOn ink (Jet Black), then penciled in a path with a blue-grey watercolor pencil.
Now for the trees...well, I don't have any of their trees, so I had to improvise. The stamp I used is this corner stamp - I just inked the ends of it and stamped them repeatedly in Memories Midnight Blue ink - I figured they looked enough like wintry tree branches. I colored the girls in with Prismacolor pencils, and watercolored in their shadows. I stippled Midnight Blue ink around the trees too.
The snow is acrylic paint, which I dotted around with the small end of my embossing stylus. I added some snow on some of the branches, too, and in piles along the path.
Last, I sponged the edges of the layers with black ink, tied the fibers around, and tied in the snowflake eyelet charm (it's from eyelets&more, who are sadly going out of business but having a really great sale - dear me, 45% off everything!).
