Heaven and Nature......... pink!
I wanted to join the Bloom Brigade with a peek at Power Poppy's newest set, Heaven & Nature Sing, which is being released tomorrow as part of the Happiest Holidays Collection! Love this set, and the sweet winter scene.
I'm hosting this week's Mix-Ability challenge over at Splitcoaststampers... it's also the last day of the month and the last day of challenges for our Hope You Can Cling To card drive. I know that quite a few of us are Octoberfried, so I decided on an easy color theme this week - make a mixed media project with some pink on it. I am, in fact, so Octoberfried that my challenge went live a whole day early and I did not even notice.
For my card, I chose 2 Distress markers, Worn Lipstick and Weathered Wood. I started by laying a stamped white matboard ATC from Inchie Arts into some diluted marker ink to create the pink background. All the coloring is done with those two markers, some areas blended with a waterbrush.
I masked the birds with masking fluid to add some spattered white acrylic paint to the background. I also used a new-to-me paint pen from Derwent, a white Graphik Line Painter, to add some highlights to the birds and flower centers. Love the smooth flow of these pens!

ReplyDeleteThis is lovely. A 'brave' colour choice that has absolutely paid off! Beautiful stamp and I LOVE that white spatter. I will have a look at the other projects.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love the pink base with just the bit of Weathered Wood for shading and contrast. The splattered acrylic paint is a beautiful effect and gives amazing texture. I'd love to try it, but a little scared to ruin my image. Guess I could always make another one, right? This is just so gorgeous, Dina!
