Give Thanks

Here's another sample from the newly released "Give Thanks" set from Our Daily Bread. I watercolored this on the plane on the way here...I really like how it turned out...when I watercolor I've been trying to work on deeper shadows and bolder contrasts. ..I've found the best way is to lay down a solid area, then go back in with pencils to create the shadows. So...notice that, and not that I used the wrong tape on the vellum. Thank you. :)

It has been raining for 6 hours now, no...pouring. I had to leave my laundry in someone else's washer across the campus, because I'm not about to go across the soccer field to retrieve it.......sigh........

My helper is sweet and shy, and is doing well, considering she is really far from her jungle home, and is living with a weird American who likes to sit in the doorway with a laptop......I think she's frustrated that I don't have tasks for her to fill the whole day...I'm way too laid-back for that....but I think she thinks I'll be mad if I see her not working. Sigh...it's hard too since we're still on break. Things will pick up soon, I'm sure!

  1. Oooo - raining for 6 hrs!!! I can't even imagine! We're in drought conditions, 110 yesterday, & need rain so badly - send some of it our way! Thanks for those little glimpses of your day. Hope today is much easier. How thankful we are for laptops!!!

  5. I'm so glad you inspire me to use different colors. You did a beautiful job, and I will try to use colors "outside of my box". I generally tend toward blues and greens and very traditional colors. I absolutely love what you did with the colors in this cornucopia. Thanks again for your beautiful inspiration. God bless you.
