Splitcoast Tutorial: Aligning Letter Dies

It's my turn to share a tutorial over at Splitcoast! I made these two cards and shared my tricks for Aligning Letter Dies - I hope you pick up a tip or three!

This was a pretty simple design, and the tips I shared will allow you to use the positive and negative cuts with ease. The alphabet dies I used are from Whimsy Stamps - I actually had to go searching through my SCS gallery to find them, because I didn't have them cataloged somehow! They are about 1" tall, a really great size for lots of things. The Congratulations die is from IO - I didn't remember it being so large, but it's a great size for different card orientations, and it doesn't need any help showing off!

This card set was inspired by my 3rd kiddo, who graduated last week - he is my ride-or-die, so this is a hard one to wrap my head around. So proud of him! My oldest son turned 21 on Monday... following all those big emotions, we lost our cat on Monday (he got into some poison, it seems - so awful). Yesterday I found out that a dear friend of my family (he had been like a second dad to me growing up) had passed away last week after battling 2 forms of cancer, and a close neighbor friend who had open heart surgery yesterday morning had a scare at the hospital (he is stable now, thank God!) ... then the events in Texas... whew. A lot going on in my heart this week.  Take care, friends!

  1. Gosh you have had a crazy amount of emotional stuff this week! Glad some was positive to balance the negatives at bit. Nice color combo choice. Clean and bold.
