Spellbinders April Club Kits blog hop

It's always fun to be a part of a blog hop (I'm in two today!)! Today I'm hopping with some friends of Spellbinders, and we've got all kinds of inspiration to share using this month's Club kits! If you're a regular reader of my blog and just happened upon my section of the hop, you may want to start back at the beginning so you don't miss out on any prizes!

The Spellbinders Blog is the place to get started - and if you should happen to get lost or interrupted in between, you can always go there for a complete list of links in the correct order. If you came to my blog from Zsoka Marko's blog, you are doing just fine.

This month's Large Die kit has some add-on mini sets for the Truckin Through the Seasons set, and I focused just on the sports dies here. I'll share my process, using a modified technique I learned from Jennifer McGuire.

I laid out all my die cuts (colored with Copic markers) on my card base first to get the spacing just right..

To keep them in the same arrangement I used a piece of Press'n Seal wrap, pressing it down over the panel to get a good adhesion. (You can use removable Contact Paper for this too.)

Next, I added a small piece of foam tape to each die cut piece...

...and then flipped them back over onto the card panel and adhered them in place.

Here's a closer look so you can see the dimension! It's so fun to have every piece popped up, and this is such an easy way to achieve that. The sentiment block is made using the tailgate die that goes with this mini set, along with a "happy" word die that came with this past card kit.

Remember to comment as you hop along today - each comment is a chance to win! Spellbinders will be giving away a $50 gift certificate to 3 lucky blog readers, and you can also earn more chances to win by commenting along the hop! I have a $25 gift certificate to give away, and so does evvvvvvery other designer who's sharing a project today.

Here are the club details, if you're not a member yet! My favorite perks are the extra sales and the 10% discount on the Spellbinders site!

  39. I think we all agree Press'n Seal is handy in both the kitchen and the craft space! Your design is so adorable for that kid (young & old) in your life. Love how you used the smaller elements of the kit and made them the focal point of the card. I can see a box of this type of cards as a Mother’s day gift to a Grand Mom for all the sports–loving grand children in her life!
