Splitcoast Tutorial: Basket Weave Card
This week's tutorial over on Splitcoast is a fun throwback tutorial that I have had many requests for - it's sometimes called a lattice card but you'll find it on our site as the Basket Weave Card.
The border is made with a series of cuts and folds - you'll find a template on the tutorial page! I used a free digital image from Whimsy Stamps for my card - this is Oswalda! I colored her in with Copic markers on Canva-Paper and sketched in a wood floor to complete the scene. She's all ready to go shopping! Be sure to keep an eye on the Whimsy Stamps blog for all kinds of fun May events and specials. :)
Hope you'll try out this tutorial too - it's such an easy technique and elegant look!
P.S. In case you missed it on my Instagram... we got a puppy last week! Meet Mona. :)
Awwwwwwwwwh love those eyes! What a cute furbaby! Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome technique and coloring. Super cute puppy. Best wishes to Mona.
ReplyDeleteSo adorable, I am going to have to try this out.
ReplyDeleteYou always amaze me with your talent, Dina. From artsy to whimsy your cards are just wonderful. Thanks for sharing all your talents.
ReplyDeleteSO SWEET, DINA! ;) I DO LOVE the texture of the paper showing through on this! AND ALWAYS, WONDERFUL COLORING! ;) LOOOOVE your new puppy too! ;)
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet puppy, Dina. Enjoy! (Nice card too, but Mona won me over, LOL!)
ReplyDeleteYour puppy is SOOOOO cute. So was yr whimsy animal which I haven't quite figured out! Turkey, emulate, turtle, hahaha. Cannot believe you just sketched in that cool flooring...really? My grounding is a different shade of brown squiggle. Really enjoyed your card today.
ReplyDeleteOswanda just made me laugh.... cute puppy.... love the brindle striping on her back. Went to Instagram to see her.... puppy love!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet image (and cute puppy). I went to the site to download the image, but I have no way to unzip, so I guess I'll just have to admire yours. :-)
ReplyDeleteDid you try contacting them directly to see if they'd email the file? I have a feeling they would do that for you - such sweet people there!
