Splitcoast Tutorial: Coloring Contours
This week's tutorial over on Splitcoast is a Copic coloring tutorial, specifically for Coloring Contours.
I chose this coffee image (Coffee Aroma) from Impression Obsession because it had so many curves to work with. I wanted to experiment with colors too, to create a distressed, almost rusty look. It sort of worked, alternating browns and blues. I'll keep playing with it and see if I can perfect it. I love shading with dark browns for a more vintage look as well.
These are the Copic colors I used - following the tutorial I created my plan with the lightest blue and then went to the darkest brown. The next layer was the darker blue, followed by the lightest brown and then all blended together with the lightest blue. I used E41 and E43 in the steam swirls, then covered them with a Sakura clear glaze pen before doing the other blending.
I'm linking up again with the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - remember you have until Friday to enter and link up for a chance to win! One winner will receive this set of prints from my store - I'm so happy to be a Super Sponsor!
