Splitcoast Tutorial: Die Cut Gate Fold

It's my turn to share a tutorial over on Splitcoast, and I'm sharing two variations of Die Cut Gate Fold cards. These are the samples I made in the video - this one has an opening cut with a single-edged border die:

I made a belly band for this one using a Twinchie Art Square from Inchie Arts, stamped with Party Kisses and colored with Copic markers.

The second version is done with nesting dies...

For this one I used a retired stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas, again on a Twinchie square, and colored with Copic markers. The banner die is also retired, from Quickutz. There are lots of tips in the video for using the nesting dies for the card opening - so fun.

I'm curious if anyone noticed my pretty nails in the video...

I have had to hold off doing any videos for about a month, because after processing some black walnuts in October, my hands looked like this! It has taken about a month to fade completely from my skin, but my nails are still stained. After maybe 2 weeks, the skin on my fingers started peeling off like it would with a sunburn or chemical burn, so there was an awkward and ugly patchy stage as well. Next time, I promise I'll wear the right kind of gloves!

I hope you're having a good week - I've got my Thanksgiving shopping list all ready to go! So excited to celebrate in our new house. Cheers!
Thanks for stopping by!

  1. This stamp is the perfect choice for this fab gatefold card. I love the colors you've used. Thanks so much for sharing with us at The Cat's Pajamas Winter Blog Hop!
