Impression Obsession DT Challenge: Feathered Friends

The Impression Obsession team's challenge today is to create a project using a bird image.

Here's my card - I decided to play around with a technique I've seen Heather Telford do, using Brusho Crystal Colors on the MISTI. Several of you have mentioned that you'd be afraid to do this type of technique directly on your MISTI - maybe this will inspire you to give it a try!

I started by sprinkling green and turquoise Brusho powders on a piece of watercolor paper, then positioning my stamp on the MISTI lid.

I misted the stamp with water, then stamped into the powders which activated just in the wet areas. I repeated this step until I had the coverage I wanted.

Since the MISTI ensures accurate placement, I added a layer of darker blue Brusho after my first layers were dry. Powder that was in unstamped areas was brushed away when all the water was dry.

I laughed after I finished this card and stamped the sentiment... since peacocks are male! Oh well. :)

Stamps I used: Reverse Peacock Head, She Has Wings

  2. Never mind, maybe HE is in touch with his feminine side!
Great technique using your Misti. I've never seen a reverse silhouette stamp before, but I do like the effect and that you've used peacock colours to create the background.
