Splitcoast Tutorial: Paper Lanterns

Today's tutorial over on Splitcoast is an adorable paper lantern, using a downloadable template that can be resized or customized for any occasion. I think these are so cute! The template could easily be transformed into a little birdhouse too, by punching one hole instead of 4 - I think I'll try that next time. If you attached the lid to the base, they'd make cute ornaments too.

I decorated my lantern for the holidays - the branches were made using one of last week's Holiday Blitz tutorials, the Faux Evergreen Branch. These were just 2" wire sections - more like twigs than the full branch shown in the tutorial. I added some Aleene's Glitter Snow to the lantern lid and then twirled the branches into the show so they'd just have snowy tips.

The lantern has a battery-powered tea light inside - I just love the way those flicker!

Such a sweet project - hope you'll give it a try!
Thanks for stopping by!
