Impression Obsession DT Challenge: Square Cards

The Impression Obsession team's challenge today is to create a square card. Here's mine:

I combined a few stamps from this latest release that I hadn't used yet, on a 4" Art Square from Inchie Arts. I made a couple of alterations to the text stamp... just cut the butterfly and lower border right off. I'm sure they'll come in handy some day!

I stamped with Stazon ink, and watercolored using Shinhan Premium Watercolors. Additional color was added using sponged dye inks and Inktense Pencils.

A painting tip for detailed work... a few weeks ago I found a Nail Art Tool Set on Amazon for super cheap. The brushes are great for fine, tiny details.

Stamps I used: Live Love Laugh, Plain Pear, Plain Pear Small, French Handwriting, Mesh Texture

Here's a peek at the background before I covered it up... I spritzed and crumpled watercolor paper, then added some chalk inks to the piece after smoothing it out. The stamping was added when it was dry.

  3. Gorgeous!! I love square cards: my makes are almost invariably square. What a beautiful background created with the spritz and crumple technique. The string and metal/bead embellishment is a really nice addition. I wish I could find a good range of Impression Obsession stamps in the UK.
