A work in progress.........

I'm a bit ahead on my other projects, so I've been challenging myself to watercolor more... it takes some courage to sketch instead of stamp, but I've been happy with the results so far. I have done a couple of ATC size paintings that I'll share later... this is the piece that I'm working on now. I took this picture a few years ago in a pottery village up the mountain from us - I'd love to go back there someday!

I love the worn-ness of the potter's wheel... I also wanted to incorporate some favorite song lyrics and verses about pottery, potters, and clay into the design, so I wrote those into the wheel using an oil-based pencil - it's not a perfect resist, but I like that too.

I'm working with Shinhan Premium Watercolors - love getting my palette messy and combining colors.

I'm working on the hands and arms now, so don't look at those too closely - just wanted to show you a closer peek at the wheel.

Hope you're having a great weekend!!
Thanks for stopping by!
