Tea to the World.........

SmARTworks DT member Peggy Lamb laid down an OVAL challenge for us this time around to the Tea Party table. Our focal image needed to be framed in an oval. Fair enough! I decided not to do a card this time, since 'tis the season - so here's a little simple box I made using my Scor-Pal...it's about the right size for tea! Hm......
The box itself is 4" square, and 1" high. I took a 6" square piece of cardstock (note to self - use heavier cardstock next time!), and scored it 1" from each edge, trimmed one side of each square in the corner (created by intersecting score lines), and folded and taped in the corners. The bottom of the box was trimmed just under 6" square, and scored and trimmed in the same way.
My focal image was stamped on watercolor paper, trimmed using the Coluzzle nested oval template, and watercolored using Derwent pencils and a waterbrush. The snow is white acrylic paint and glitter. The holly berries are glitter penned and Diamond Glazed. This image comes from the Holly Birds set.
The little tag was a happy accident...the first time I stamped the bird/holly image, it didn't print in the middle, so I had a partial image on watercolor paper. I used my tag punch to position some of that extra fringe holly on the tag so there was room to write a to/from message there. Worked pretty well, I thought! I actually made about 8 more little tags just like it for a Christmas party we were going to the next day. :)
Be sure to check out the other team members' creations as they post throughout the day...
