What a hoot!

Here's the owl card I promised yesterday...hopefully some of you have made it over to Susan's blog to win your own set!

This was a fun one to make...The owl was stamped first, then masked. I brayered the sky...still a technique I'm working on, and more often still prefer sponging, but anyway...I brayered this one...!...using Adirondack Stream and Denim inks. The trees are stamped in black and Eggplant. After removing the owl mask, I colored him in with Prismacolor pencils.

Can you see the texture on the moon? That is the coolest part, I think...After I colored the owl, I remasked him and used a reverse or mortise mask on the moon. (That means that everything was covered except the moon.) I stamped the moon with Versamark ink using a texture stamp from the "Spatter" set, then used a soft brush to apply Perfect Pearls to it - in real life it's really shimmery.

There you go! I think I'll go take a nap now...the parasites were up partying all night, and I didn't get much sleep. (I have, however, lost 6 pounds......)

  2. Eek! What a way to lose weight! Your card is gorgeous - I've been trying to practice my brayer(ing) & actually have some things I'm not ashamed to show. Wonder if it ever gets easy?! I tend to think mine need to be "perfect" hahaha! Hope you can get some sleep tonite.
