sweet you
A card for a co-worker who has a birthday coming up on Tuesday...hopefully she doesn't read my blog! I also used Taylor's Cupcake sketch again, and fulfilled another goal of using up some yellow scraps and ribbon. Why do I have so many yellow scraps? The House Mice are watercolored, and I used a clear glaze pen on the frosting and glitter pen on the flame. The saying is from Penny Black...I just love that one. Inside is a saying from smARTworks - "wishing you your heart's desire..."
I felt like I got kidnapped today...a friend was having a service at her house - here they have funerals at their homes, then have another service 40 days later to commemorate...I'm sure there's more to it culturally than that, but I have yet to learn about it. Anyway...we had a house guest arriving today, and I had a huge list of things I needed to get done, so I tried to beg forgiveness and explain that I really couldn't come, lots to do, it was raining, we didn't have a vehicle because someone had borrowed our motorcycle, one of the kids wasn't feeling well, etc. She texts me back and says - "That's ok - we have a car, and I already sent my son to come and pick you up!" Ugh...sigh... So I ended up taking 2 of the kids and having to go after all...which was fine...it was in our old neighborhood and it was good to see old friends and our neighbor's relatives...but as stressed as I'd been all morning about getting my list done, the 40 day thing was just not in the plan. Funny though, huh, that apparently the excuses just made her work all the harder to get me there. Ah, cross-cultural living..................

**ETA** A few people wanted to know what I used to make the greeting panel - it's a punch I picked up at 40% off when we were still in FL, made by McGill. It's meant for keyholes, but I love the shapes for greetings, for hinges, etc. Thank you for asking!
Dina, this is toooooooo cute! What did you cut the sentiment panel out with? :0)
ReplyDeleteSooo cute! Your watercoloring is beautiful! I want to know what Michelle asked too... what did you use to cut out the sentiment?
ReplyDeleteOK Dina, admit it - you really needed a break & the Lord provided one - hahaha! Maybe you didn't even realize it! So let that stress go far, far away & focus on what's most important - that's a command! (In love, of course)
ReplyDeleteWOW! your coloring is just amazing...love your image, love your card =)
