sketch challenge
I have a habit of coloring images without a thought of what colors or patterned paper are going to go with them... As a result I have a folder FULL of homeless colored images. Sometimes, though, they come in handy when I need a quick card or when I'm working on a sketch challenge.
So here's one of those. I started coloring this (with Twinkling H20s) in May when we went out to Bunaken Island, and never finished it until this evening. This was a result of 2 colliding challenges - Julee's sketch challenge, and Kraftin' Kimmie's card contest (Fall colors). Thanks, girls, for the inspiration!
I watercolored in the scene behind the apple pickers (stamp by the Merry Stamper)...pink isn't a traditional fall color but it's the color of the sky on evening and I love it. I miss it here.
I flipped each panel and scored just inside each edge - I have done that before on a focal panel, but thought I'd try it on all the panels just for effect. I like! That's a little Basic Grey paper peeking out on the right, and the saying is from TAC.
Thanks for checking on me!
Oh this is so adorable!! I love those colors. I've never tried twinkling H20s - I'm intrigued. :-)
ReplyDeleteCute card! I have the same coloring problem - I have a whole bucket full of homeless colored and usually even glittered images. I never think to use them, though. Maybe I should challenge myself to use 'em up! :) Thanks for playing my challenge.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done! I always color first & assemble later. Maybe that's my problem..... LOL
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I've been checking out your blog daily but have not had the time to comment. Just want to let you know that I love your stuff as much as ever, especially those paper peaced picnic baskest which are down lower on the page. Great great eye candy that you treat us to!
ReplyDeleteDini - this is gorgeous - what great coloring; and i love the scoring you did around each page. what a great idea - i'm going to try that technique!! thanks for sharing - have a super day!

Dini, I do the same thing from time to time. Then I have to stop an think about what to use with that image.
ReplyDeleteSo I have a full Envelope full of those stamped colored images. that I do need to use.
Maybe one day.
Thanks for sharing.
