AAAAAAA..........white...........!

In this recent critical analysis of my own style I've also realized that I have a general fear of white. I very rarely have any large white field on a card. Give me color, color, color. Not sure what it is about white space that makes me uncomfortable...makes me want to fill it with something. So in my quest to come out of my box a little more...........*flinch*...........a white card.

All stamps are by smARTworks - the 2 grass stamps come in a set together. The Emerson quote (I do love Emerson quotes) comes in another set with a small brush-style dragonfly. I used Versamagic chalk inks - I think they were sage and sand - on the grass, and stamped them several times each. It was fun - a benefit of using unmounted stamps - to bend the one stamp once on the block (the one stalk that's curving down). I used a brown blow-pen for some light spotting over the grassy section. The quote is stamped in "Jumbo Java"...which sounds like something I could use right now!

I flipped my main panel over and scored 1/8" from each edge - for some reason in my mind that counts as a layer visually. The ribbon...is a little more yellow than the gold I wanted, but everything else that matched was too wide, so this had to do. It works, I guess.

I love that white cardstock actually - it's locally made, and it almost has like an aida cloth texture to it. Very pretty. Very white, too, actually.
