By the Sea

I'm scrimping my last sheet of watercolor paper until my in-laws come in a couple of weeks, but I used a piece on this card and liked how it turned out. This is another My Heart Stamps for You card...I'm trying to get a bunch done so I can send them home with my MIL to save on postage (the last couple times I have had to send a package of cards overseas it's been almost $30 US!).

Anyway, I did my stamping with Stazon ink and colored with Derwent WC pencils, then blended with a Niji waterbrush. There are just a variety of blues in the background and several layers of color. I tried to do the rock salt technique to variegate the color, but it didn't really work. Oh well.....

I wrapped copper foiling tape around the edges of the main panel - something I had on hand from a past Christmas ornament project. Copper embroidery thread is wrapped around the card, and beaded. I cut the small oval with my Coluzzle. The long green panel has a text stamp stamped on it several times, and the card is textured by stamping with a crumpled piece of paper. Lots of sponging on the edges too, of course!
