Impression Obsession DT Theme: Winter
The Impression Obsession team has some projects to share today featuring a winter theme. I made this card for a challenge over on Splitcoast, and I love how it turned out!
The cardinal and branch are watercolored using QoR paints as usual. I wanted a really saturated sky, so I used Karin markers to create some downward strokes from the top of the image, then blended them out with a wet brush toward the bottom of the panel.
When everything was dry, I used a treeline stencil from A Colorful Life Designs to add a moonlit forest down below the bird. Instead of an inkpad, I scribbled some of the same marker ink onto an acrylic block, then used a brush to pick up the ink for stenciling. I love the depth that created on the card!
To highlight and protect the snowy areas, I used a clear glaze pen - they are waterproof when dry!

This caught my eye immediately in awe. From your description, it doesnt seem possible to have this effect..just beautiful. This is definitely my favorite . It is so unexpected with moon, sky, bird.
