Splitcoast Tutorial: Swinging Tent Card

This week's tutorial over on Splitcoast is a Swinging Tent Card - a super fun interactive standing card with a swinging element inside!

All the stamps I used are from Impression Obsession, and they're all older stamps to play along with our team's "Old Is New" challenge today! The background was done with dye inks, misted and 'splatted' with my MISTI - it's a simple technique I was playing with for a tutorial, so I had the background already done.

These are the IO products I used:

I love the swinging element, and it was easy to do! I used super glue to adhere the strip of acetate to my stamped image - I have found that to work the best. The silhouette image was cut out with my Scan N Cut!

Be sure to check out the other IO designers' blogs for inspiration using older IO stamps - see the I.O. blog for all the details! Do check out this tutorial too - so fun!
Thanks for stopping by!

  1. What a perfect idea for a swing card!!! I really like the BG you made...feels summery but not a classic sun and of course that is a perfect sentiment.

Many years ago I used to take a walk at lunchtime in the summer from work...go thru a park and...go down a slide. That 5 seconds would totally break my mind away from the stress of work and the rest of the park walk was much more enjoyable.
