Splitcoast Tutorial: Faux Quilt Candle Card

It's my turn to share a tutorial over on Splitcoast - when I was looking for an idea I ran across a quilt pattern that inspired me, and I thought it would make a cute card design! The pattern is here, and you can find my tutorial here

This is a great way to use up scraps - I chose 4 larger scraps for my candles, and was able to cut 16 strips, which gave me these 3 cards. All the dies I used are from Spellbinders monthly kits - I will be sharing this month's kits later in the week!

On the first card I added some scored lines along each edge - on the second one here I ran the finished panel through my die cutting machine with a swirl embossing folder for a quilted look. There is some sponged stenciling on the third card but it doesn't show in the photo. A little foiled sentiment on that one too - there are lots of different ways to embellish these cards!

Let me know what you think! I did a lot of looking at quilts this week - my quilting genes are tingling!

Thanks for stopping by!
