DIE987-ZZ Scalloped Pinwheel D21313 Winter Fox - coming soon! C21309 Warm My Heart - coming soon! |
I'm hosting the Mix-Ability challenge today over on Splitcoast with a paper quilting challenge, so I chose to showcase this new Scalloped Pinwheel die in three different ways! Above you can see the die cut with all the sections pieced in different colors... and a little sneak peek at some Fall/Winter stamps coming soon from Nola Chandler! They were sitting on my desk so patiently while I was working this weekend, and those fox jammies and the sentiment were such a perfect fit with the quilt, I couldn't wait to put them all together.
DIE987-ZZ Scalloped Pinwheel |
The die is all one piece, but it cuts the outer frame (which could be used with any square insert), inner frame, and all those half-squares separately. There are 2 different sizes of half squares, which can also be liberated beyond the frame into any half-square quilt pattern your heart desires! I did a pinwheel here with the small ones. My card base here is a 4" square, which allowed me to make a 16-block pattern.
I used the larger half-squares for a simple Lonestar design (I used the one pictured here and there are 33 more linked on that page!). This card base is 5-1/4" square. This was a great way to use up scraps of patterned and mixed media paper!
Thank you for visiting me - now you're off to visit my friend Giovana!
Dina, your little fox is ADORABLE!!! You won't believe this... Just the other day, my husband came in & told me to look out the window as there were 3 little baby fox out there. Well, I missed them, except for their shadows in the bushes, but I saw their mom. Just sitting there, watchful! I LOVE your quilt cards too! PERFECT for fall, which is coming SOON!!!LOVE the Lone Star one!!! A SUPER JOB!!! ;)<3
