Splitcoast Tutorial: Ice Rink

This week's tutorial over on Splitcoast is a fun way to add an Ice Rink to a wintry scene!

I created a watercolor scene using Premium Dye ink and stamps from Whimsy Stamps - this is the set that I used, and I actually used the cityscape for that topmost hill, stamping and misting each impression. I love how versatile this "Christmas" set is, and it's very inexpensive for all that's packed in it! I stamped and misted the trees into the scene as well, leaving an area for my pond. That's lightly watercolored with the same ink, and I added extra snow with white acrylic paint... in hindsight I wish I hadn't tried to paint snow onto the tree branches, and had just stuck with the stamped dots instead. Next time. :)

Frenchie 'iced' her pond with clear glue - I used this glaze, though mine doesn't have the applicator - that's pretty nice! My pond is edged with modeling paste, and sprinkled with microglitter. The sentiment on my card is from this Whimsy set, and the tag die is theirs also, but appears to be discontinued.

That's all I know!
Thanks for stopping by!
