Impression Obsession Fall/Winter Die Release Day 1

Just wanted to make sure you'd all seen the new die release over at Impression Obsession - there are some really fun fall and winter designs to choose from! Go take a peek - I'll wait!

The last few weeks have been kind of a blur with family issues, but I did get a chance to sit down and play with a couple of the dies while testing out some new Clearsnap inks. One of my favorite techniques with large dies is Debossed Die Resist - I'm sorry I didn't take any pictures while I was working on this card, but the video tutorial below will explain the process!

I pressed the die into watercolor paper, then flipped it to work with the raised outline on the back side of the paper. For the technique, I rubbed a white oil pastel on the outline, which resisted the ink as I watercolored the scene.  Here's the tutorial video I created for Splitcoast:

And here's a look at the die I used so you can see it turned the right way. It would be beautiful laid over any background. The word stamp I used is from the Layered Bow clear set, and that little tag is here.

Also - I haven't had a chance to create any samples, but I wanted to let you know that there are single dies available for my Layered Pinecone and Layered Bow clear sets, as well as a set of dies for the Precious Gems clear set.

Layered Bow (die | stamp set)
Precious Gems (die | stamp set)

  7. AWESOME VIDEO! I can't decide which technique I liked better! Now do you have to use an embossing rubber mat for when you are running the embossing folder through the machine?

    1. For the die technique you do need the mat, otherwise it will cut through. (Is that the question?)

I think I like owls with pumpkins when doing

to use this time of year.
