Splitcoast Tutorial: Gilded Faux Silk
Today's tutorial over on Splitcoast is a layered background technique called Gilded Faux Silk... the base is a sheet of tissue paper, stamped, crumpled and textured with embossing powder. It's easy and so dramatic!
I used Impression Obsession hybrid inks for the heart stamps (Simon Says Stamp), to be sure my background wouldn't bleed when I adhered it to the cardstock base - that's something to be aware of if you're using dye inks, especially if you use gel medium or a liquid glue as your adhesive. The sentiment was done with my Valentine Brush Words set - it's a themed mix-and-match word set that can be used to build a ton of different sentiments. So fun!
The bunny die is actually (surprise) an Easter one, but he's just so cute with that teeny heart! I wonder what else I can tuck under his little arm.
If you're looking for a fun mixed media technique, I hope you'll try this one!
