I have a project to share today that I completely flaked on yesterday...! Our challenge over at Impression Obsession for this week is to create a last minute card or gift. Gift cards are always a great last-minute fallback, so I've got a coffee-themed gift card holder card to fit the challenge and the hop!
My card is a little different from one in my Coffee Gift Card tutorial HERE, but I used some of the measurements to put my pieces together. The base of the card was cut to 4"x10", then scored and folded in half. The sides were cut at an angle from the top corner to 1/2" from each side at the fold. I added just a little adhesive at the very edges of the card to keep the middle open.
Instead of a pop-up, I just created a piece that slides in and out, with the 'lid' of the cup as the pull tab. that piece was 4-1/4"x2-1/2", scored at 1-1/4" and cut in at an angle to 1/4" on both sides. I cut 2 strips at 1/2"x 4-1/4" for the bottom of the lid. The insert piece is 7-1/4" x 3", and it's scored 1-1/2" from the bottom (that folds up and keeps the gift card in place). You can see how I glued the top into the lid below.
I made a gift card holder using a die from Impression Obsession, and a new stamp (Coffee Helps) from our Valentine release that fits perfectly on the front. The inside of the folder has slits to hold a gift card from your favorite coffee joint!
Thanks again - enjoy the hop, and go make something pretty! xoxo
P.S. If you have Impression Obsession stamps, play along with our challenge for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate! All the details are HERE.
