New Fall/Winter Stamps from IO - Day 1
The Impression Obsession team is showcasing new Fall /Winter images that are available NOW! You can visit the I.O. Blog all this week for links to the previews and ALL the challenge details. Leave a comment on our designers' posts throughout the week for a chance to win one of SIX $25 gift certificates from Impression Obsession!
(In case you didn't know, I have my own line of stamps at Impression Obsession, and I'm thrilled to be adding more of my original stamps to the collection. You can see all my designs HERE!)
When I was working on illustrations for this release, all the world was abuzz with news about April and her pending delivery... so since we were waiting forever on the baby giraffe, I drew my own! There is a clear set with several sentiments and accessories (dies coming too!). The giraffe comes in rubber in 2 different sizes, and the sentiments are available in rubber as well. Love this one for a get well card.
There is a scarf in the set, a bow, and a bowtie, so you can dress up your baby giraffe as a boy or girl. The scarf and bow are so fun to paper piece!
TIP: stamp the scarf directly onto the image first so you don't have to cut around the fringe when you cut out the pieced image.
This card would make a great encouragement card - again, I stamped the bow onto a piece of patterned paper and added some shading and highlights with colored pencil to accent it before cutting it out. Both cards are watercolored.
Stamps I used: Baby Giraffe clear set

ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards yet sad for us here on the East Coast. The Maryland Zoo just lost their newest born giraffe and it's affected the community tremendously. On a brighter note, April the giraffe seems to be doing great in upstate NY. A bitter-sweet chain of events for local giraffes.
ReplyDeleteI read that - so very sad! :(
DeleteOh Dina... these are gorgeous. Your coloring...fabulous. My husband, an over the shoulder computer looker, just oohed and ah'd right along with me. Who knew retirement could be so fun?!

ReplyDeleteOMG!!. I wish you could have seen my smile when I saw this image and card you made with this giraffe stamp!!. Giraffe's are my favorite!!. Here in the Cleveland Zoo we had a giraffe named Travis that I got to hand feed a few leaves to. My Mom got a picture of me laughing while the giraffe used his long tongue and wrapped it around the leave and I could feel the gentle tug of the leave come from my hand. Whenever I go to ANY zoo I go see the giraffes first thing and last thing before leaving the zoo. You truly brightened my day.
