Impression Obsession Design Team Thursday

Welcome to this week's Design Team Thursday post! On the Thursdays we're not posting a new challenge, members of the team take turns sharing a project we've made with Impression Obsession stamps or other products. I'd like to show off a new die today - we have a variety of these full background dies, and they're wonderfully versatile.

They can be layered or pieced, of course... but I like to use them for embossing as well. Both of these cards feature embossed panels that are watercolored in different ways. For this card, I debossed the die into a piece of watercolor paper (follow the instructions for your die cutting machine for embossing with a silicone mat), then I used the outlines as a guide for coloring with Zig markers.

The sentiment above is from one of Peggy Jo Ackley's new clear sets, Hydrangea Blooms. I cut the banner by hand.

For this second card, I prepared my panel in the same way, but then flipped it over and used the side of a white crayon to rub over all the raised outlines on the back side. This created a resist on those lines, so I could use liquid watercolors to paint in the image.

The sentiment is one of mine - it's HERE.

Here's the die - such a pretty one for so many techniques! Thanks for visiting me today - I hope you're inspired to use your dies in different ways!
Thanks for stopping by!
