Splitcoast Tutorial: Mani Pedi Gift Box

This week's tutorial over on Splitcoast is a cute flip-top box with a divider inside that can be used as a gift box for mani/pedi items, or other small gifts. I used a sturdy piece of chipboard for my box, and decorated it with some vintage papers from 7Gypsies... I think I picked this pad up at Tuesday Morning - it's full of vintage photos, prints, and letters.

To hold the box closed, I made a belly band with a strip of cardstock and a 3" Art Square from Inchie Arts, layered with more 7Gypsies paper.

I covered the panels with more paper from the pad. Going down the photo below, those pieces are:

1-1/4" x 2-3/4", 4-3/4" x 2-3/4", 1-1/4" x 2-3/4" (top flap)

4-3/4" x 1-1/4" (top of the box)

1-1/4" x 3-3/4", 4-3/4" x 3-3/4", 1-1/4" x 3-3/4" (on the angled pieces, I used the cut off piece as a template - back and sides of the box)

4-3/4" x 3/4" (I had those side flaps laid on these but didn't end up adhering them because those aren't seen. This is the front of the base of the box).

I didn't cover the bottom, but you could. That piece would be 4-3/4" x 1-1/4".

Here is the open box, with a small divider - I cut that piece to 7" instead of 5". This is the side of the box - you can leave the top corners to the outside or tuck them in.

This was a fun one to put together, and there are so many ways you could decorate the box, or create a closure. Next time maybe I'll play with some kind of tab or latch to hold it closed. Be sure to pop over to the photo tutorial to see Stephanie's cute box all filled up!

Have a beautiful day! I'll be back tomorrow with a challenge card for Impression Obsession!

Thanks for stopping by!
