Splitcoast Tutorial: Twisted Pop-Up Card

It's my turn to share a tutorial over on Splitcoast and we're wrapping up the year with a popular and much-requested card - the Twisted Pop-Up Card.

You can see how I made these two cards in the video below... they're fun and easy to make, and you know me and foldy projects - if I can do this, you can! Be sure to check the video, or at least the end so you can see how these cards twist and pop when they open up!

The inside panels are ATC (artist trading card) size, which is perfect for featuring the silhouette images from my clear sets - on this card I used the Together Silhouettes set. Simple, with a little paper piecing and shadows added with a Copic marker.

This card is the one made in the video - the front is pretty simple - I cut the snowflake out of the patterned paper, then cut a second one from fun foam and rotated it slightly. I've had those brads forever - they came from the wedding section at Michaels.

Here's the inside, again featuring a clear set - this one is called Winter Silhouettes, and it's available at Impression Obsession.  No coloring here, just a little background stamping with a script stamp, and I love that lined paper!

Here's the video!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. LOVE this, Dina! You make it look so easy (and I know your love/hate relationship with fold-y cards!). Can't wait to try this. Thanks!!
