Cute, Colorful and Compact!

Today we're featuring a product review on Splitcoaststampers centering on this new "Cute Colorful and Compact" ink line from Clearsnap! The inkpads house 4 mini pads in seasonal collections, with the idea of using them in planners. The inks are fast-drying and permanent when dry - they're ColorBox Premium Dye Inks, which are foam pads, and super vibrant.

I decided to focus on this Fall collection, and think a little outside the box. To start, I lined up 4 mini banner stamps in my MISTI and was able to ink and stamp them all at once for a color swatch... I used the banners for some ATCs I'll share tomorrow!

Dye inks are great for watercoloring since they're water soluble, and with the 4 mini pads, it was easy to make a quick palette. This is a cheap tile I got at Home Depot. (You can see the brown ink reacted a little differently there - I'm not sure why that was, but I was still able to use it for watercoloring.)

I stamped my Lenten Rose image several times around the edge of a 4" Art Square from Inchie Arts, then watercolored using the inks and building up layers

The mini pads can also be used to ink a background stamp - moving the inkpad from side to side a little as I inked, I was able to ink up a background stamp for the card below, and then squeak out 2 more impressions. A quick mist added some interest and color movement to the background.

I  swiped the blue inkpad across a piece of smooth cardstock for the die cut bird and banner.

For more projects and thoughts on these new inkpads, I hope you'll visit us Wednesday over at Splitcoast!

Thanks for stopping by!
