Splitcoast Tutorial: Die Cut Shaker

This week's tutorial over on Splitcoast is a Die Cut Shaker - we do have an older tutorial for shaker cards using pieced foam tape, so it was time for an update (the alternative instructions for the old tutorial involve using a Coluzzle... anybody else still have one of those?). We worked together with Top Dog Dies to create this fun tutorial - it's a great holiday project, especially for gift tags and ornaments!

I made a little night time city scene with the City Landscape Layers die - I cut it first from black cardstock, then cut the circle with the die used for my largest frame above.

I used a die from the Hill Landscape Layers set to create a curved cut through my black layer and the base, then pieced the white layer in. The sky and lower area (is it water maybe? an ice rink?) were colored with PanPastels.

I added some lights to the buildings with a small stylus, and splattered stars with a long liner brush. The filler for my shaker is Flower Soft. So fun! I used the Snow Globe base to finish off the project.

Come and give it a try! xo
Thanks for stopping by!
