Inchie Arts Swatches!

Just a quick post to let you know that Inchie Arts has a new size piece for your matboard artwork - 2" x 4" Swatches! These are a great size for trading and for card fronts, and they come in packs of white and black.

I'm trying to push myself to draw and paint more, so I threw down a loose sketch in ballpoint pen, and watercolored using dye reinkers. On the matboard, I usually put down clear water before adding ink, so that the color will float instead of sinking right into the surface. Inks work really well for this technique. Nothing fancy here - here are the tools I used. (thank you, hotels, for the free pens! The eraser can be found here - these are great! I just cut off the end with a craft knife when the eraser starts to get dirty.)

I used purples and blues to paint in my drawing.  The Swatches are a great size for a CAS layout like this, or for a card with more layers. The courage stamp is one of my designs, found here.

If you join us for Hope You Can Cling To next month, you'll see this card as one of the challenge samples! In honor of the card drive, this card is going to a sweet friend of mine who lost her husband to pancreatic cancer last year.

I flicked a little bleach on the painting to add some texture and spotting - I can't seem to paint without spattering somewhere!

Have a wonderful week!

  5. I'm catching up with your blog posts as I've been away. This is magnificent - the design, the colour and simplicity! The 'cropped' rose is an inspired idea. Lovely!
