Happy thoughts and sunshine

Dare To Get Dirty ended Friday, and today is the deadline for all entries to be uploaded for a chance for PRIZES! Here are a couple of my entries (and I get to SHARE prizes this time!!)

When I work on cards in batches, I tend to work with bits and pieces that are out on my desk. Here are two cards that were made at the same time...

I created a background using an 8" Donna Downey stencil and some red and yellow Brusho powders, then misted lightly after the stencil was removed, so the color would flow into the white space just a little. The sentiment on the first card is one of mine available in a clear set from Flourishes (I hear they're reopening next month!), and the floral die is from Simon Says Stamp.

On both cards, I did some die cut inlay, and used scraps of the same Basic Grey paper. The dies on the bird card are from Impression Obsession (bird) and Simon Says Stamp (banners). The sentiment is one of my favorites from Heart & Soul Rubber Stamp Co. Here's a closer look.

Every time I clean my desk I end up messing it up with the inspiration I find while I'm cleaning - unlikely color combinations are hiding everywhere here!

Have a wonderful week - I'll be back Wednesday with a Splitcoast tutorial!
Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Original and gorgeous cards. Your work is inspiring to such a degree that, after long deliberation, I have invested in a set of 12 Brushos! Unbelievably cheap here in UK - which makes a change.
