Splitcoast Tutorial - Pinwheel Fun Fold
This week the tutorial at Splitcoast is a Pinwheel Fun Fold. It's made with double sided paper and some angled score lines, and it folds up with a pinwheel shape on the outside. So cute! Dawn has several cute samples to share in her video, so be sure to check them out.
Dawn uses a diagonal score plate in her tutorial and I don't have one of those, so I thought I'd show how I made my score lines on the Scor-Pal. I cut my paper to 8" square, then measured and marked at 3" from each corner...
After the marks were made, I turned my paper so that the points were lined up vertically, and scored down from each mark.
Here's my card without the belly band... there's not a lot of contrast between my two sides, so a paper with more contrast would be better - something to remember for next time! I would have sponged the edges, but I don't have a sponge with me. The stamps I used are from Unity Stamps.
Here's the inside of the card, with a fun little sentiment. The flaps fold over like a box top - so cute! The finished size is 4 1/4" square. Remember those notes we used to fold up and pass in junior high... with the fancy folds and 'pull here' tabs...?
Hope you'll give this a try! So cute and easy.
Oooo now that is some FANCY folding! Super cool!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the tutorial as I do not have the diagonal score plate either. You did a wonderful job!
